How does the human intellect work according to Aquinas?

Because they were both egotistical idiots.
One cannot distinguish between passive and active intellect.
The agent intellect is consciousness
Consciousness is universal and in its universiality it defines the signlessness of oneness/voidness/bliss indivisible.

Intellect works on the basis of survival, and is powered by the Ego.

Surely “understanding” is a function of the brain, which is therefore a function of the body… unless we’re talking metophorically of course!
